In my version whilst both Adam and Eve are distraught at leaving Eden, Eve having taken responsibility for her actions is mentally preparing herself for a future containing difficulties and hardships she has so far not had to face.
This one reverts back to the more traditional iconography of Adam comforting Eve whils taking one last look at what he has lost.
